Co-op Sports through to County Cup Final Tuesday 9th March 2010, 05:52 pm
This week saw Co-op Sports Sunday progress to the Beds FA Lower Junior Cup Final with a clinical 3-0 Semi Final win away to New Inn Biggleswade. With the squad being short due to appearance restrictions; Co-op travelled the 40 minute journey and produced some great football to beat a previously unbeaten 'New Inn' side.
After some technicalities earlier in the week; the final looks to be played on 11th April 2010 @ Barton Rovers with a 11am kickoff.
The club will be looking to have a huge support present and will be selling tickets over the next month with the Co-op Sports & Social Club offering hospitality after the game to all supporters who come to watch.
Confirmations and more information to follow...
Co-op Sports FC Football Buster Lottery Wednesday 20th January 2010, 03:12 pm
We have started a new online football lottery, you pick 2 numbers between 1-92 (you cannot pick numbers already chosen), these numbers will randomly allocate you 2 football league teams. The goals scored by these teams each week are added together to give your goal tally.
The first player to land on 21 goals wins the WINNERS pot, if there are many players who land on 21 at the same time, the WINNERS pot is shared accordingly.
If your goal tally lands on a number higher than 21, after the league is updated. You will automatically BUST. The amount of goals you were over 21, will be your new starting number. The counted goals are from League games ONLY. Cup matches do not have an effect on player totals.
Players can join a game at both the beginning and while the game is in progress; where your goal tally will be backdated to when the game started.
Please speak to Dickie if you want to join in, there is no fee to join for this first game however we do have a WINNERS pot of £10!
Saturday Team Fines Wednesday 11th November 2009, 08:59 pm
All Saturday players;
After certain players' (you know who you are) lackadaisical attitudes of late the Saturday staff have decided to enforce team fines starting from today (11th Nov 09). All players have been notified of the fines so no excuses. All money raised by the fines will put behind the bar at the end of season do! The fines are as follows;
- Failure to notify non-attendance to training - £1
- Failure to notify lateness to a matchday - £1
- Failure to notify non-attendance to a matchday - £2
All notifications need to be either myself, Dickie, Wayne, or Steve Lewington.
I hope everyone understands that these fines are put in place not to catch anyone out; but to help the club and all involved including you; the players to be successful on and off the pitch.
Cheers lads

Season is here!!! Friday 4th September 2009, 11:41 am
So at long last we have reached the start of season. For what seems an eternity of preseason friendlies both our Saturday and Sunday teams are in league action this weekend.
The newly formed Saturday team are playing Stopsley Park Youth up Luton Regional Sports Centre at 2.30pm, whilst the Sunday team are at our Solway Road home against Clarence FC.
It would be great to see a number of supporters at both fixtures, so please if you are short of something to do on either date - come and show your support for the lads.
I wish both teams the best of luck for the weekend, and here's to a successful season.

Looking to the future Tuesday 23rd June 2009, 11:07 am
With the 2008/09 season well and truly completed, it is now time to look to the swiftly approaching new season.
There will be alot of changes coming for the club over the summer. Firstly the club name; as of 1st July 2009 we will be known as Co-op Sports FC. This is thanks to the Luton Co-operative Club on Stockingstone Road providing us with quality post-match food and a new base to run the club from. The merger will see both parties benefit greatly with the football club being able to expand into Saturday, Youth and Girls football in the future. It will also mean that the club can hold various functions, speaker dinners, race nights etc to generate funds so you; the players pay less per week to play! Winners all round!
A big addition this season, part of the clubs 3 year plan is the inclusion of Co-op Sports (Saturday), who will be competing in the Luton, District & South Beds Division 1 this term. Being managed by Gavin Smith, we expect the team he is putting together to bring silverware to the club.
In line with these changes, the club is currently building a new website which should be finished by end of August, it will be alot bigger than the current one to allow room for expansion and will be more interactive for users.
We are happy to announce that our main shirt sponsor: Toyo Tires
have agreed to continue to support the team for the 2009/10 season. We would also like to welcome our new away shirt sponsor: www.valuetyres.co.uk
The online discount tyre retailer has signed up for an initial 1 season sponsorship deal with an agreement to extend for a further season should the club deliver its contractual promises. With both of these sponsors in place, it puts the club on sound financial footing to offer its players a new away strip, new & improved training equipment, coaching badges for players and if all goes to plan; reduced playing costs.
Saying that; as with other grass roots football clubs, we are constantly looking for additional sponsorship, so if you know someone that may be interested in helping the club. We currently are looking for Training/Warm Up Jacket sponsors, Back of Shirt sponsors and online link advertising. Please email me through the site if this is something you would like to discuss.
Heres looking to the new season.

Challenge Cup Winners Monday 20th April 2009, 04:47 pm
Well Done to the whole team for winning the Challenge Cup on Sunday!!!
After the disappointment of being Runners up last season, the lads did a fine job, beating Lea Sports PSG Reserves 2-0. Nick Hodges scoring both goals and picking up the Man of the Match award in the process.
Photos will be up on the site of both the game and the frolics afterwards shortly.
Challenge Cup Final Friday 27th March 2009, 05:37 pm
Our Challenge Cup Final has been confirmed as;
Lea Sports Pirton Reserves vs Bird & Bush
The fixture is to be played on 19th April 2pm kickoff @ Ampthill Football Club.
Admission is only £1 per ticket so it would be good to see as many supporters there as possible, especially considering the late kickoff, so no 'sleeping in' excuses. The club is also pleased to announce that all profits the club makes from the final will be donated to Keech Cottage Childrens Hospice.
